Caring for your child

We ensure the welfare of each and every child by providing a secure and safe environment where children are encouraged to be healthy and active learners. We place a strong emphasis on the health and safety of all children and staff and regularly audit our systems and processes.

You will experience peace of mind from placing your child with a company that accepts its responsibilities seriously and dutifully ensures that all employees are aware of their roles and accountability.

Learning and development through fun

As we know from our own experiences, children learn best through play. We want to ensure that your child experiences the very best in child care and is supported to develop and learn throughout their earliest years.

We want the children in our care to be sociable and to have high self-esteem, to enjoy books and stories, to learn about numbers and how to solve problems.

Development through activities

We want children to develop physically, to enjoy painting, drawing and making and to learn about the world around them. Our staff plan activities for your child to enjoy on their own or with other children both in the indoor and outdoor environment. Through our Toad Hall Language Programme we place considerable importance on developing children's early language skills through games, songs and stories.

We promote physical activity on a regular basis through our own Lets get Physical programme where we encourage at least 60 minutes of high physical activity a day. Mostly this is in the well-resourced outdoor areas but where possible we also build in music and movement in the indoor environment.

Partnerships with Parents

We endeavour to build strong relationships with the parents and carers of all the children who attend our nurseries. We have an open door policy that values feedback from parents and carers.

We recognise that you know your child better than anyone else. Parents and carers are consulted on all issues that affect the welfare, wellbeing, learning and development of your child. We encourage you to comment through regular on-line anonymous questionnaires and also invite feedback in comments boxes at each nursery.

A key person for your child

Each child has a key person who ensures that the children in their group experience a wide range of activities and experiences. Each key person works in partnership with you to ensure they learn from you, as well as letting you know how your child is progressing.

Each child will have a special book with examples of the activities they are doing and the staff are free to talk to you at any time, about how your child is doing. A secondary key person is identified for those times when your key worker might be absent. This ensures your child is well-supported at all times.
